  WAR 2008 WAR had one of the best character select screens- a panorama of scenery where characters stood at different heights on steps. A very good presentation. |

WAR did have a good character select screen. However, currently, I'm really liking the detail put in to the Diablo III screens. From the changing backgrounds (depending on what Act you are in) to the detail of the buttons. I'll try to post some pictures when I get home.

 WoW 2005 WoW's select screen is pretty good- the background is a nice scene of Stormwind (since I was playing the Alliance side on this server). The list of the characters to the one side is functional, though it's sort of cool to see all of your characters like in WAR. |

  DAoC 2003 DAoC had a solid login screen, a bit of scenery behind the selected character's image. It even told you where that character was in the world. Not bad for the times! |

 AoC 2008 Age of Conan's character select screen reminds me of a deluxe version of DAoC's. The lush background scenery is really cool, and your displayed character fidgets while they stand there. Quite atmospheric. Good job! |
