Morreion at level 19 decided to visit Darkness Falls when it opened recently. He was eager to see the forbidding place. DF is risky, full of perilous fiends, but it is also very rewarding- increased experience, coin, and the famous seals that drop which can be exchanged for special powerful gear.
I went through the entrance; the demon guardians were gray to me, a good sign that I was experienced enough to go inside. The murky, dark red underworld unfolded before me.
At level 19, the rats and worms at the top of the entrance were green to me; the Apprentice Necyomancers were yellow, soon to turn to blue as I leveled a few times here. The Plated Fiends were purple (turning to red), and everything else I could see was purple. It will take some work to be able to take them on.
I really like the atmosphere here. Very creepy. The fact that enemy players could show up at any time gives a spice to the experience.
After a while, Midgard took over DF. I kept on fighting the necyos, aware that sooner or later Mid parties would work their long way to our side of the dungeon. Sure enough, I glimpsed a Mid group and ran, yelling "Mids!"
The funny part was, the Mids were generally tolerant of gray-con lowbies like me. They would fight Hibs who were more their level, which is expected. But I was surprised not to be killed. A couple other lower-level Hibs around me seemed to behave as if this was normal. I was rather impressed, because I made it a point not to kill grays if they weren't fighting my realm.
Here's a Kobold Runemaster who mesmerized the worms I had stumbled into near the entrance running from him. I cheerfully waved at him.
While going back to leveling, I noticed a Norse Hunter out of the corner of my eye as he unstealthed and shot to death with his bow a higher-level Hib nearby. I ran off again, but he allowed me to live. Later on, one of our Hib Nightshade stealthers killed him, stealth versus stealth. I only managed to get this quick image:
Eventually, after leveling more, A Norse Shadowblade- Midgard's assassin class- killed the mob I was fighting- I unknowingly hit him with an AoE DoT, unstealthing him!- and communicated to me by gestures.

He obviously wanted me to leave, and considering he was level 50 while I was level 22, I thought it best to respect his wishes I ran off to the entrance and hid behind a wall and logged off.
I find it very interesting that the enemy is tolerant of lowbies in DF. I approve!
