I'll make a warden, a druid, and a hero, just in case. I can play what we need most! This download is taking forever, though - just a bit of patching to do. ETA: Saturday evenings are better for me than afternoon, but if that's what works best, I can make it go. Cirig

Hey all, I am so there, will attempt to dl game this evening and I am open to playing most any healer or mage type class. I just don't do tank classes too well. My broken arm is healing nicely but I will still probably be somewhat limited in what I can do for the next few weeks. Went to doctor today and he said I won't need surgery but need another week of healing then will have to go into therapy for abit, but if I can't play through the pain I don't deserve to play DAoC <grins>

Dang! I was all ready to sign up as the 2nd druid, but I can't let my fellow keen be lonely! Sign me up as a menty, if they are truly needed, or an eld if they are not.

I am a firm believer in that everyone should play the class they enjoy. After all, if the game isn't any fun, then why play? For those who are undecided as to which class to play, here's a list of what I think makes a well rounded group (both for PvE and PvP): Druid (Nurture/Regrowth for buffs/heals) Bard (Music/Nurture for CC and speed/endo) Warden (Regrowth/Nurture for backup heals/pulses) Enchanter (Mana/Enchantment for mainly AoE, but good pets too) Eldritch (Void/Mana for the best DDs/disease) Hero/Champ (someone with a shield for protection) Champ/Blademaster (for high damage output) Open class (usually some type of light tank for additional damage output and healer/caster protection) The above model is just my opinion, and usually what my group ran three years or so ago. It worked pretty well. I think this gives a well rounded group of healers, casters and tanks. Generally you have enough heals to cover everyone, enough casters for range/AoE and enough tanks to handle agro or to keep players off of your healers. Of course, I'm only one person and this is my opinion. Everyone should play what they enjoy. I'm excited though! It's going to be fun! Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to post this link. It's a list of classes and specs for Hibernia. It should be very helpful to see what skills your going to be getting at your next level.

I'm guessing Uthgard uses current-based skills but set in the classic frontier?
From what I remember, dont leave the PvP gates without 2 druids and a bard. The rest is always the subject of debates.

That's a good question, Dotty. From the Uthgard FAQ it says they support the current version of DAoC, but all expansions (except SI, old frontiers, and housing) are blocked...

Talinon has reached Level 8 now, and has his first Defense mechanism.. Guard I. Got me a nice Medium Shield and a Broadsword to give the baddies their appropriate haircuts (just below the left knee) and I will keep whomever I need guarded best I can. In retrospect, I think I had some of the best fun playing as a Hero. I enjoy the challenge of keeping agro and keeping healers and casters safe at the same time as watching for my reactionary attacks and chains.

Okay, my Druid is Kelldros. He's currently leveling up a bit in anticipation for this afternoon's events.
