How to Play DAoC on Uthgard

Thanks Popo, that helped at lot. For me there was one more glitch which I think I've solved.

For Windows 7 users DAoC Portal is kind of wonky. You may have to go into explorer and make a mods folder before you can copy into it. Then Windows may not let you have control of it until you give yourself full control. You have to right click on the mods folder --> security ---> edit ---> give yourself full control. Then run DAoC Portal as administrator and ModMgr and patch. It finally worked for me, but it was quite an adventure.

First, go and get your downloads from here:

They will download a .dmm file

Copy this .dmm file to the "mods" directory inside of DAoC Portal's directory. Default is C:\Program Files\DAoC Portal\mods

Fire up the Portal

Go to Client -> Mod Manager and hit accept on the DMC License after the timer ticks down. You will see something like this:



Mark the check-boxes you wish to install and click Patch. On the crafting patch, I got a message about not approved by DOL (Dawn of Light, the people who make the Portal) but I would assume it's safe to use since it's on one of the most popular servers they have listed on their server list. When I patched in the classic patch, I received no such message, only when I just now did the Crafting Patch

And that's that! No more messages about how you don't have their classic mod installed!

LOL - Now you tell me. I've spent the last hour or so patching and trying to get everything running together. And I'm running Windows 7 64-bit at that.

The funny thing is that I just got mine fixed the previous hour, and posted right after the patch took. I had been wrestling with it for a day or two. At some point we'll all get configured. (running Windows 7, 64-bit too)

So Rego got me wanting to play again, I installed everything as need be, but it's telling me that the specifiied location for the instal is invalid.

Yeah, mine said that too... even though it was definitely the right location! I can't remember how I fixed it. I believe I ran the patch in Settings after I selected the EU Version radio box and English Language from the drop-down.

Hello Syritha! Go to the DAoC Portal software and select:

File > Settings > DAoC Installation and hit Browse to select where DAoC has been installed on your PC.

I did that and it worked great!

Yeah, that's were I got the same warning though, Morreion. Until I did the patch, only then did it work. It was odd.

Yeah I finally got it working and am now a lvl 5 Druid again! Still working out some bugs, talked to Rego this morning and he directed me to where I can find fixes for the issues. I'm currently installing it on my gaming laptop as well so I can play at work....you know...on my lunch break.... *whistles innocently*
