You can have the distance to any target enabled on your UI by doing the following:
Click Menu > System Menu > Options
Under Game Options, scroll down to the bottom and click the
Show Distance To Target
box. Click Apply and you're there. This is handy for ranged classes, and anyone who wants to know if an aggro mob you're running from has given up the chase without panning the camera.
