Halloween may be over but finding this board has been like exploring an old abandoned (or IS IT dundundun) mansion, so I decided to rattle my chains a little in greeting. 

So yeah, hi. I was Semion/Tryphyna/bunch-of-alts in DAoC on Hib/Nimue, long long ago. DAoC's got a free-to-play mode now and I couldn't resist the opportunity to visit old haunts. And that got me thinking about the people I knew then...and some Googling landed me here.

Hi Semion! Your name is familiar to me . Were you in a guild on Hibernia? Glad you found Far Journeys!

Was playing on the DAOC Phoenix server before it shut down and hope that someone puts a similiar freeshard up in the future.

Flidhais is a name I remember, hi! I was in Haven with Elethea and Popo (any other Haven alums here?) and later was in Slane Baanrit (anyone talked to Toki lately?). I was trying to find Elethea in particular, is she still around?

Have you tried out DAoC's FTP mode? I gather that there are a few restrictions so not the same as a freeshard exactly, but so far I haven't run into anything that produced a "seriously? never mind then, /quit" reaction. Though, "give it time" I suppose.   There's gotta be something they locked away to get people to sub. 

Anyway, nice to see a familiar name, thanks for saying hi.

Hey Semion, and welcome! I was Nakul/Rakul/any other 'Kul in Hib/Nimue, Alb/Percival, and Mid Guinevere. A few of us were enjoying the Phoenix DAOC Freeshard until they shut it down. We're now (im)patiently awaiting for the Atlas one to start up. No ETA though.

Hey Rakul! Thanks for the welcome, and I do remember you and your 'Kul characters. Too bad about Phoenix - gone before I knew it existed. Poking their forums, looks like Atlas just did a stress test? That's encouraging.

I'm still flooding myself with feels and nostalgia on the official servers, running around with my old characters. If Atlas happens though...funny to think of starting from scratch with a 20 year old game, but I'm feelin' it. I guess I will also start waiting (im)patiently and we'll see.

Nice to see your name again and I hope all is well with you and yours.

Welcome Semion! Every so often someone from Ye Olde Days finds their way here and the nostalgia flows. I remember your guilds well! The years are adding up, aren't they.

Elethea comes by occasionally, though it's been a couple of years.

I'm not sure about most folks, but Bezyan really wants to do Hibernia this time, so he can finally finish it. Regolyth may be in, along with me, Ariesel, and Endever... and maaaaybe Saro. Am I forgetting anyone, Arie?

I wanted to do Midgard for a change, but I'm easy. Says so on the outhouse wall, so it must be true! Speaking of easy, I'd really like to get Oatik in with us. I'll slowly brainwash... ermmm... work on that.

Hi Morreion! I think I remember you as Gack? It's unsettling to me to contemplate how long ago it was, hah. The past is always right there next to you, but blurry and just out of reach. Drives me nuts.

I hope Elethea does stop by again someday soon. I wish I'd done a better job staying in touch with her and Popo and the others, but I've never been great at that sort of thing (and was even worse about it back then).
