Ack! You found out my secret!
reg·o·lith /ˈreɡəˌliTH/ Learn to pronounce noun GEOLOGY the layer of unconsolidated rocky material covering bedrock.
Sooo... yeah. Back in my first year of college, I had an astronomy class. The professor used the term to describe the soil on Mars. A week or two later, I started beta testing the druid from the Diablo II expansion. I needed a new name, recalled what the instructor had said, then fantasy-ized the name by replacing the I with Y, and so the first Regolyth was born. I started playing DAoC on Midgard, but then switched to Hibernia and rolled an elven archer. The most famous Regolyth was then born and became my favorite name and the one I used in any later games that had archers or elves.
