Good post Rego! I forgot about stealing in UO!
I was in a player guild in UO called the Byzantine Empire. I remember we fought another player guild, some kind of Barbarians. The coolest thing was that everyone RPed as they PvPed- it was awesome! The Byzantine Empire RPed being Medieval Byzantines, we had brown and orange uniforms, and we had a spellcaster who RPed as a Christian priest (I distinctly remember him humming and leafing through his Bible (spellbook) at one of our military drills while an officer chewed us out. I was a foot soldier- officers led us. The RP blended right along with playing- it was my first exposure to RP. I clearly remember an officer and a few of us troops catching an enemy guild member in a city and menacing him with death threats if we found him again.
A lot of DAoC RP (which was great) was more about storytelling or 'acting' scenes whereas in UO it was more integrated into actually playing the game. Man, I miss those days.

Integrated role play was great fun. This used to happen once in a while during the days of the Council of Hibernia. I remember one time Vonstadt, Anghared, and Duvidicus asked me to join their group in Old Frontiers. There was a Firbolg animist in the group (Maevun I think) who set some shrooms and killed some Siabra NPCs that spawned nearby. One of the group roleplayed them as his family, quit the group, and then later came back. The discussion around that was just awesome.

In UO you could RP as you fought; usually there wasn't much more to do than stand there until the enemy was dead (as long as you were a warrior of sorts). DAoC was a little more intricate with combat, so you had the strafe, run, heal, etc. You could set up some macros though for shouting at the enemy. You are so right. Integrated role play was great fun. This used to happen once in a while during the days of the Council of Hibernia. The game launches December 4th. You can still get Founder/Backer rewards up to December 3rd. Pre-launch play for those who backed it started Monday, I think. It's a fun little game. It's no behemoth like they first envisioned (if anyone remembers the basically unlimited amount of shards and genres you could play), but it's more focused and entertaining now.

So what's the word on this game? I'm still playing a little GW2 and SWTOR. Even played DAOC for about 6 months and then let it lapse once again.

Hey Kelryck!
I'm waiting for the Steam version, and of course they've delayed that due to performance issues. Aria looks like it's on track to be UO 2.0 from what I've read, looking forward to trying it!
