... you would have missed out. I played EQ1 as well as DAoC. DAoC was definitely the better game. Don't get me wrong, Everquest was awesome, but DAoC just had this certain appeal to it that gave it the edge over EQ1. IMO anyways.

The Good Old Days I tried playing EQ 1999 last year, I'd never played the original EQ- and it just didn't resonate with me. I go back to UO occasionally and I like it- I think a lot of this has to do with whether you played a game a decade or more ago. If you did, it's great. If you didn't play it then, it's hard to 'get it'. I've seen this with other players. One person on this board said of UO: "Looks like a mobile MMO" Have to agree on DAoC. I have tons of great memories from that game. That was back in the day when you could make an MMO for $2.5 million in less than 2 years, and it had a great community. Random DAoC pic:
