One of my first memorable experiences in UO. I was new to the game, and an old veteran, recognizing a newbie, showed me around the capital city of Britain. We ended up in an inn, and he told me tales of adventure from the past years over some ale. Here is the only picture I managed to take of the long and interesting conversation that we had.
I was absolutely enthralled by the experience. Years ago it seemed that the old guard from early games were much more likely to be sociable and friendly. In DAoC I deliberately went out of my way to help out newbies in starting areas with some buffs, and they were always gratefully received.
