SOE's new Player Server initiative debuting in H1Z1 (Massively)'Today I'd like to announce H1Z1 will be the first game to implement our new Player Servers. In addition to the traditional servers that we set up and run (what you've come to expect in MMOs), we will allow the players to come together in any way they wish and if they can get enough people together to vote for the server we will make it for them.
At first this will be for specific pre-defined rulesets. Later we will expand past rulesets into adding more features. For example perhaps one community prefers to go more militaristic. So they add more military vehicles. So we're truly letting you, our players get exactly the kind of thing you're looking for.
Mechanically this will allow players to buy pledge tokens in Station Cash to vote on a proposal. However, should the vote [succeed] we refund.'More about the game (H1Z1) another day- the Player Server Initiative sounds interesting. I'm not sure about station cash for voting, but being able to have customized servers in games if enough players vote for them gets a big thumbs-up from me. A more customized MMO experience means happier players who can have their own niche servers.

I was looking around for a little more detail, but I guess it's not available right now. Like, what types of features will be available to vote on; who comes up with them? The station cash thing seems odd. Is it whomever spends real money on a token gets to vote? Because that I don't much care for (especially if it's more than one vote per person). Overall though, I'm on board with the idea too. It seems like a pretty cool idea. The title of the game made me chuckle.
