It came out a couple days ago. I'm loving it so far. Though, it's really slow paced. It's more a micromanagement survival game, trying to keep your peasants from starving or running out of resources. The Steam achievements are actually really hard. Most of them have to do with having a high(relatively) population. I think I started a fresh game last night, and with 5-6 hours, my population is only around 40  |

I've been playing it over the last week. I've been enjoying it. My first town I hit an impasse because I failed to create a blacksmith, and ran out of tools. Then my builders just stopped building. The second town, nearly everyone starved after the first winter. Somewhere in year two I had four adults and two children. I decided to start a new one last night. I'm a good ways into it and I've got a healthy population with plenty of food and supplies. I think I figured out where some of my problems were.
I was on Reddit the other day and found a thread of where people were posting map seeds with screenshots. I found a really nice one with a good amount of forest and mountains and four lakes with rivers that connected them all. I can share the seed here if anyone is interested.

I picked Banished up today and am loving it! I too didn't get a blacksmith up early enough and my laborers were working with their bare hands. I can only imagine the dirty looks I was getting.
The game is addictive!

I picked up a copy of this today and I've played the first tutorial; I can see before I play any more I'll need to get some stuff done in real life. If I could only get some virtual workers to clean my garage!

I've been working on the Tenure steam achievement, slowly. I'm at 400+ people now, but I've noticed my population dying rapidly. Lots of old age deaths and not enough new labourers(educated) to raplace them. Just waiting for a large group of Nomads to come help me out It's weird too, because I have more homes than families to fill them at the moment, so the population should be going up. |
