October 25th, 2002- my first level 50 character in DAoC. Many months of lots of playing led up to the big moment. Games are much easier to level up in now. I took out the combat log after hitting 50, but the group I was in kept pulling mobs in Darkness Falls one after another, because that's what we were there for! Those were the days

Congrats on 50 Gack! ;D

My first three 50s were at fins. Rego was at fins from 42 to 50 (obviously leeching). My bard, and buffbot, went from 1 to 50 at fins. My friend was an enchanter and got me in at fins for Rego's portion. When I was leveling my buffbot and bard, I borrowed my friend's enchanter and played the alt and the enchanter. I pretty much ran the fins group for about two weeks, level them. Eventually I was both enchanter (I took over the enchanter account from my friend, who quit) and healer (the bot), leveling friends, guildies, and whomever else came along (list keeper too, hehe...). I had two computers side by side, so healing and PBAoEing wasn't a problem.

Whoa! You were busy ;D Fins was a great leveling place, between there and Darkness Falls and Coruscating Mines I got most of my experience from level 42 on at those places. Man, those were the days, when it was truly a journey to level cap, and you did it interacting with other players.

While reading this I just had an interesting thought. Isn't it cool how from levels 1 to 50 you PvEed. You stopped at 20 to hit Thidrinki, then 30 for Caledonia. But then it's back to leveling. Once you were 50, you got some gear crafted (with the money you earned while PvEing) then RvRed the rest of your career. The PvE was like a rite of passage to RvR. At least the first or second time around. Later on you might head out to RvR earlier, since you couldn't stop drooling over it.

That was a really cool thing about DAoC. There needs to be more DAoC in this world. Old DAoC (leave out the later added MLs, CLs, gear grinds, etc.).
