Players can perform music together in LOTRO- a unique ability. Here's a band who held a concert in the capital of the Shire during a rainy afternoon that cleared up later- the last 3 images are a bit blurry because someone was passing out ale to drink!

These are great! I used to have alot of ABC music files on my computer that I would have my minstrel play in downtime and my kin used to have Christmas feasts where we'd play carols together. Good memories. Just curious...what server did you play on? Elendilmir here.

I was on Landroval. I really enjoyed the game a lot, but haven't been back since they went F2P- in my experience, F2P titles have had poor communities. I hope LOTRO is doing well, I know I need to get over this F2P phobia (moreso because it looks like The Future) but I am suspicious of games that design play to get me to shop.

I agree - they aren't being charitable by going F2P, that's for sure. I was doing some reading up on if I were to reactivate my account. I guess I would automatically have the "Premium" player option as I was a founder but in order to have absolutely no restrictions (aka the way the game was before), I'd have to pay a monthly fee to be "VIP". So I guess it would be a wash compared to previous money-wise...it sounds like VIP lets you have a shared bank between toons and a couple of other nifty features..otherwise, it would just be going back to paying a monthly fee in a roundabout way I suppose. Still....my hangup is the Mirkwood expansion and having to find groups to do the DNR dungeon in order to get the prerequisite +dread armor that seems to be required to do anything further if you want halfway decent groups. *sigh* Sounds more and more like WoW to me.

Aye, there are certain things that I'm tired of doing in MMOs- the Solo Thousand Quest Grind and the 'keeping up with the Joneses' armor grind are 2 of them. That's why I keep an eye out for sandboxes.

What was the name of that group, Morreion? Do you remember? The scene seems awful familiar to me.

Ack! I went back and looked through my screenshots but I didn't have the name tags turned on for these shots, Loendal...can't remember! They may have been an RP guild that held concerts periodically.
