Sinaedh, you took me back years in time and virtual space by visiting Ludlow in the first part of your story Ahh, memories of the green rolling hills and copses of woods in fair Albion! I hope to see the story continue!

This (Bartt's Tale) is just totally refreshing so far. I like your decision to just start this out with a small dose. What you wrote is proof that it doesn't take volumes to capture the reader and draw them in. You've done more with those short paragraphs than many do with pages and pages. Please continue.
I remember the first trip "I" made up to Ludlow. Yes, it seemed like a long way...and I was so new to the game. The spiders gave me a hard time. I think it was a Highlander Mercenary that made that trip; one who died sometime later in the woods behind Humberton and was never heard from again. I don't recall his name. A DAoC veteran befriended him by gifting him with a suit of red tinged armor that seemed almost "epic" to me at the time. I sure do miss the wonder of all those first steps into the game. Your first installment definitely filled me with some nice memories.
You've got a wonderful writing style. I'm sure you don't know this, but you and I collaborated on a story on the Adellion boards a couple of years or so ago. I asked permission, which you gave, and contributed several installments of a thread you had going. That's how I know how good a writer you are, even though our paths never crossed that much in DAoC. Kudo's to you on this nice beginning. I'm anxious to see where you take this.

Thanks for the kind comments. Bartt has always been a fun character to roleplay, even though I am not by nature a tank in group game play, I don't think. Wow, Adellion? Wonderful! That's another place just full of stories, and hopefully soon they will begin to become more real. ::keeps fingers crossed::

Glad to see the story is continuing, Sinaedh. I spent a while thinking about the Ludlow/Humberton area near Camelot in Albion the other day. I enjoyed starting out Kirth my Highlander there. Those were truly the days

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, Bartt's tale will continue, but I've been in sort of a slump lately, hence the little snippets. Hopefully the whole will be worth reading.

Hurrah, the tale continues! I remember that camp on the ridge not too far from Ludlow...whoa, memories...wouldn't mind visiting that area again I also remember the Humberton Council in the meeting room of the castle near Humberton, going through their speeches when you walk in. I remember being impressed with the NPC drama back then. Ahh, to be able to return to those grand times again, so full of wonder.

Yeah. One of the first villages I remember. The good ol' days.
