I think Notch could still use a month or two more of alpha. There is a lot of broken multiplayer things that should be fixed before beta, IMO.
Hehe... I'm glad I got mine. Anyone else who is thinking of getting the game should definitely do it before December 20th.

There's also plenty of single player things which do nothing or could be improved.
Slime Blobs for example. They do nothing. And do you know that in my entire time of playing this game and digging in the dirt, I have YET to find a slime at all?
The new ore from The Nether has very very limited use. You can make Braziers with logs, you don't need ever-burning dirt. Lightstone from the Lightstone Dust doesn't provide any more light then a torch though it is impervious to water. Slow Sand is pretty much useless all around. It merely activates your sneak function. I've read it slows down mobs as well, but I haven't really tested this yet. And wasn't there supposed to be *5* new ores with the Halloween update? I still love this game like mad, but I wish we could see some new crafting recipes get discovered or some way to use older stuff in a new way. Why gather milk if you can't use it for anything? What about Eggs? Throw in wheat and you have cake! (Whether it's a lie or not!)
