Topic: So...Before this board dies... (VN DAoC Nimue Board)

I know..even though it may be months or years, dependent on how often or irregular people may post here that the server NIMUE existed and many people at one time played in this persistent world such that for a short period of years we came together as one and acknowledged our common ground, whether at odds or not, and enjoyed the veritable entertainment of each other's virtual existence to the extent we posted over a million posts on an anonymous chat board where invariably we congregated and lashed out, talked politics, engaged in conversations ranging far and wide the gamut of social understanding and at the very least made entertaining posts which either led parties to throw their hands up in shock and amazement (*for some* at stupidity) or both, and generally because we found a common ground in our own experience, whether far or near to our own understanding. That common ground we found was unique and special and such that I would say almost priceless. Some of the conversations on these boards were some of the funniest I've ever read...and I read everything... I've never experienced such that I wanted to ever extend my gratitude to a whole of strangers until now even years after I had enjoyed the golden days of an online existence such that I've experienced with you. I don't really consider any of you strangers at all.
Thank you. I truly thank you for the times where I either logged in to the game or the boards and found entertainment, drama, or life, happening. I have my own story to live outside of this but this chapter always seems to draw attention and I'm not sure of how to regard it but I do give it merit. It's been almost 8 years since I first played this game for the first time and it left such a lasting impression. Funny how games can do that.
Again, thank you.
I'd typically not post something like this but I felt compelled to do so. I rarely say what I mean on these boards and shoot for comedy and nonsense rather than being pertinent
Peace,
Ian
Some familiar names show up in the thread. I remember 2002 & 2003 there very well, surfing the Nimue (RP) board at work, posting there hundreds if not thousands of times. I posted many stories there. I see that people have come back occasionally to update the board on things like marriages and having children.
The good old days.
