Player Factions (Rift official site)
There are 2 player factions:
The Guardians, traditionalists that seek to save their world through their gods.
The Defiant, individualists who emphasize technology in the fight to save Telara.
From the Rift Feature Guide:
* You cannot group or create guilds across factions.
* "Every dungeon is available to all factions."
* "Right now, cross faction communication is not possible."
Races (Rift official site)
There are 6 player races in the world of Telara, 3 for each faction:
The Guardians: High Elves, Mathosians (humans), Dwarves.
The Defiant: Kelari (sort of like dark elves), Eth and Bahmi (both human).
There will be racial abilities.
