I saw Grigorian slaving away at the forge this morning making weapons and wondered what everyone else was targeting as far as crafting skills. So I decided to start this thread (so to speak). Marsalis the Champion is thinking of Armorcrafting.
Edit: And I guess I should ask. Does anyone know if the old restrictions to tradeshill selection apply, or if one can ply any and all tradeskills with each character?

And now I've blown most of my coin armorcrafting... going out for a hunt this evening.

I had taken up armourcrafting as well, and, while the recipes make it appear that the old restrictions on crafting scale (having to supply linings) have been removed, that is a BIG FAT LIE. You do in fact have to craft the linings if you have applied the crafting patch. I'm going to see if I can remove the crafting patch, and lose the ability to craft alchemy and spellcrafting, but gain the ability to make scale sans linings.

I was afraid of that ... but I am far enough down the road with it that I think I'll find a way to push through. People are going to need armor. I am not far from being able to craft yellow gear for a level 10, but I will have to go make some more coin to go much further. I had forgotten how much work it was just to be able to craft at your own level, and to make chain or scale I still will have to level up metalworking. Oh well. When you get skilled enough to make a great sword for a level 15 Champion, then I would like to procure one from you.

I probably won't craft, but if I do, I think I'll take up SCing. No guarantees though.

I'm not much on crafting either usually- and it sounds like the guild could use a spellcrafter, Rego!

I'm probably going to pass on crafting this time round, but I will be happy to donate coin to those that do, I remember it costs a small fortune to do.

I am going to give it a go. Way in the distant past I leveled fletching and got bogged down at about 700. So I guess we'll just have to see how tedious it becomes.
I think Sakul is doing a bit of tailoring, and we have people working on weaponcraft and armorcraft. If we're just able to supplement gear for people as they level up without just begging around the forge, that in itself will be useful. LGM ... that's a long way off and remains to be seen.
However, if someone does decide to put in the effort for SC ... then I'd feel an urge (obligation) to level up so that person would have good gear to work with.

I am 65 points away (200 skill currently) from being able to craft full suits of yellow gear for our level 10 reinforced wearers. I will have the skill by tomorrow night, and my funds are not terribly depleted (thank goodness). From this point forward, donations are most happily accepted. Cirig
