My first impression, other than the quite welcome nostalgia, is the pace of things. It's slower. Playing for a while (killing beetles in Ardee) reminded me how much we used to value support, both support characters and support from grouping. There is that sense of adventuring together instead of the sense that everyone is on their individual fast track.
The game seems to run smoothly; a ghost here and there, a minor ripple in the veil once in a while, but the client seems stable so far (obviously a long way from RvR).
It is like going back in time game-wise. But not all the way back. The setting is from the time when most all starter areas were moved to Mag Mell (from Connla, or in other realms Galpen, Campocorentin etc) and consolidated in one place. Addrir gives out a lot of quests. You still do not choose a path until level 5. Etc. Etc.
All in all I have a good feeling about this. I think we will have some good times with it ... and for free!
