Hi, all. I'd love to be part of a gaming community, but unfortunately I can't really commit right now. That crazy thing called RL has been getting in the way. Currently I'm still lingering around in DAoC and sorta-kinda GW, though my time is pretty minimal. I doubt I would switch to another MMO in the immediate future. But for further down the line, I'm definitely keeping an eye on GW2. *sigh* I miss the good old days of DAoC so much. ~Inese

I'm still in Second Life and am now an avid blogger. Funny how I was also reminiscing and two days ago I re-installed WAR. I ran a little gobbo around in the free trial (Giddi on Badlands server), but they just arent the same as my keen. I might be forever biased!
Anyways, I'm all for trying a new game with everyone here. Unfortunately, whichever game we pick it has to be free. I'm still stuck in the madness of this horrid economy.
~Fiti, the keen for LIFE!

Anyways, I'm all for trying a new game with everyone here. Unfortunately, whichever game we pick it has to be free. That's a great point, Dotty- that's why I suggest we play EQ2 since it will have a free to play option in a couple of weeks. WAR is free through its endless trial (the first 10 levels), and LOTRO will have a free option (with limits on gameplay) in September. It's a lot easier to get people together in free games for a social play session here and there In 2011 there will be some interesting titles released, both pay to play and free to play. I'm looking forward to trying Guild Wars 2 because it will be 'buy the game and play for free'. That sounds like an awesome model.

I really like the idea, I'd have to go with something free too. I've never played EQ and would be happy to give that a try, I did play the original GW and had fun with it, so might be able to get into the second one at some point too. There's also D&D online, another free one as an idea too.

I tried getting the EQ II Extended Alpha thing today (Better to try and download now before the rush) but it told me I don't have access to it at this time. Even tried creating a brand new SOE account to do it, still no dice. I presume there's no pre-downloading before it releases? I'd be intrigued with EQ II. Everquest is my first 3d MMO experience, and I can't say it was a 100% bad experience, either. (Started in Ultima Online ) Keep us informed of when we can grab the clients. I can't promise much, with my third shift work schedule (And the forthcoming addition of 12-hour Saturday and Sundays) but I'd still like to see what I can when I can.

Ouch! That's a heck of a work schedule, Popo! I used to work 3rd shift many years ago, I know how that goes *remembers being somewhat sleepy often* The EQ2 alpha phase is only open to current EQ2 active subscribers, but on August 17th they go live with beta, which apparently will be an open beta where any of us can give it a try

I, like Dotty, have been rather adversely impacted by this horrid ecomomy and have to watch my dollars and sense pretty close nowadays. But would really love to be apart of whatever comes together. We had started up on LOTRO and I had just gotten to the point where I could play with the group a couple of weeks ago and now I have broken my arm and will be unable to play for awhile. But am hoping to get mostly back to normal in a few weeks.
