We need more epic-style quests. WoW did a good job of having quests that fit the environment. It's like they wrote out all the quests for the game first, then designed the landscapes. You find mountains, statues, camps... all kinds of things that are part of the regular environment, are also part of quests. However that's where my compliments on WoW questing ends. WoW has way too many "kill X" quests.
DAoC's epic quests were fun. You had to travel the globe doing all kinds of different things to complete the quest. I also really like public quests in Warhammer. Those were a great invention, even if you do have to kill X of something. But you really can't beat UO's non-questing system.
