Well, I'm getting settled into the new OS and ... I really do like Windows 7. I did go with 64-bit and I am very glad I did. It is amazing.
So far game performance is much better than my older computer, which was heavily upgraded. Even though the new box is not a hardcore gaming machine (it is a bit below that), its performance is outstanding.
I haven't even touched on some of the other capabilities but this machine can really grind. I went with the High Res Download for LOTRO last night and it downloaded and installed 9.5 gigabytes in a ridiculously short amount of time ( I mean less than two hours, I have NEVER had that happen before). I do have a high bandwidth cable package, but I do declare that this box takes much better advantage of it than the old one.
See you all tonight in the Great Barrows, arrows and fire oil and a couple of new blunty clubs in hand.
