An interesting way to avoid burnout. biobreak.wordpress.com/2009/12/08/mmos-gone-fallow/But what if we actually planned to play games for a set amount of time, say a month or two, and then take a month off — and here’s the catch — even if we’re still having a good time in the game? |

That would be tough to do, but having played games heavily and then quit so many times, it might be worth a shot to play less frequently...it would probably be easier for me to play only a couple days a week than to quit for a month, though. I'm glad to see someone else is posting these gaming links besides me!

That's a good idea. However, in my opinion, it makes sense to do what Gack said and play games less frequently rather than full on, full off. Moderation is the key. Set play times, say... Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Or weekends only. Or even two to three hours a day, five days a week. Something along those lines. Recently that's how I've scheduled my playtime. I play Saturday mornings, all day Sunday, and then Monday and Thursday nights. The rest of the time I try to get stuff done that needs my attention, or spend time with the wife. Hey, I'm a commenter, not a news gatherer.

And I'm just the comic relief.

And I'm just the comic relief. Or relief from one's mortal coil. ;D
