I'm sure you could add more MMOish things to the existing CoD, but isn't it already MMO-lite? There rewards for kill quests, you get new skills and guns...

Yeah, I like the idea of an MMO-FPS hybrid but the problem with this idea is that it has to be heavy on the MMO aspect, and not just a tacked-on rudimentary system. People don't tend to play FPSs for a monthly fee. Having said that, Call of Duty is a good series of FPS games!

True. Planetside- I think the first example of the MMOFPS- had the most potential so far. I really enjoyed playing it for a while. The fact that base defense was not incentivized hurt the game and turned it into a series of capture-abandon-capture again moves, not nearly as fun as a pitched 100-player battle over a fortress.
