I really love the look of the game. The animations are fluid, the critters are wonderful, the terrain is realistic, the clothing is marvelous (I don't mind the extra skin showing, it suits the world). I also like the quest tracking and mapping features.
Chat is an issue, though I've made a lot of tabs and filtered down the main window to only those things I want to see. The general chatter is in its own hidden tab I only check when I need to know how to deal with a baffling part of a quest. If I get into RP, I'll undock my RP tab to have it always visible.
I've barely grouped at all. Today I saw a caster kiting that slime monster in eastern Verteron. I needed to kill it too, so I asked if he needed help, invited him, and proceeded to discover that the thing could barely be dented. A third person joined us and we slowly whittled it down. Someone else ran by and flattened it (may have been higher level?) and we all got credit. No -way- could I have soloed it despite being a plate wearing dps machine, even with my defensive cooldowns.
If the game ends up requiring grouping to proceed, I'll likely play even less than I do now. None of you are on whenever I spot check!
And any time I step into WoW to get a daily or two done, well, bye bye Aion for the evening. There so much to do there and so many people asking me to do it with them that I end up in WoW until bedtime.
I'm not regretting buying Aion, but so far it's not pulling me away from WoW at all.

The group quests can be bypassed- there are alternate solo quest areas, even some repeatable quests that can take the place of the grouping ones (at least through level 20)...the area around the observatory and Miraju's Holy Ground will get you from 17 to 20, then it is on to Eltnen Fortress for the next zone!

Those new restrictions that are trying to cut down on gold spammers are ridiculous. They're hurting new players too much, or all players in general. You can't chat in any channel unless you're level 10? How is a newbie supposed to ask questions and get help? I know there were a few questions I had to ask before I was level 5.
Also, you can't /who for players if you're under 10? Holy crap! How am I supposed to find my friends, or see if they're on? Bleh.

I didn't say it was a good resolution. ESPECIALLY if they don't ban them in the first place. heh
