Aion is an example of the quest-heavy MMO that is all the rage these days- it makes solo play easier, but it can make it hard for friends to play together doing the same quests. It is hard to match up your quest list unless you only play with your friends on the same exact quests.
That's pretty hard to do...but here's an idea: what would you all think about trying to set aside 1 time a week to get together and just go out and kill things together as a group? Forget the quests for this hunt, let's just go somewhere roughly level-appropriate for the bulk of us and grind mobs to dust! This would be more of a social and RP event, but I'm sure there will be some experience and loot along the way.
What do you think?

I enjoyed this morning when we all moved to channel (instance) 3, it was our own private MMO for a while, which I'm sure defeats half the purpose but was nice for a while.
If we find a time, I'll play!

From the look of the polls so far, how does Monday or Thursday evenings sound for a group hunt / RP social? We can either have a bit of RP socializing in a gathering place of our choice, or go out and hunt nasties at a location suitable for the majority of the characters. Perhaps helping out someone on the occasional group quest would be a fun thing, too.

Khelfaer (Chanter, 11) and Paradis (Templar,10) are both ascended; either one would be up for a hunt. I am anxious to get Khelfaer in a group and get some feedback on the enhancements he provides (plus just to learn how to play him in a group). If there was a suitable time this evening, I'd sure try to make it.

I really don't have any good regular play time except the middle of the day on the weekends. With cycling, the rest is touch and go with team rides/training, etc. But, I can fill in with almost any character, as I have all classes that have ascended (except Gladiator and Spiritmaster).

I happen to be working tonight until 8 Eastern (having to fill in for a vacancy at work), my regularly-scheduled evening is Tuesday nights. Usually when I try to start that late there's a queue Complicating things is the fact I work every other Saturday (darn library schedules!). If we can't find one solid night a week, we could try posting here to see if any particular upcoming night would work out. My Ranger Elendion is still 13 (I've taken a bit of a break from him trying other low-level alts) and Morreion the healer-on-his-way-to-cleric is 8. I think being flexible with which characters to play grouped is a good thing!

Because I don't get in that much, and also am alt-phobic, I'd like to just drag Jaema around to whatever I can so I get to play her. But a fun hunting ground where we can group and smash sounds like a nice activity for when we can manage it.

Sounds like a great idea to me, Jaema. In regards to us Altoholics... possibly we could all have a character specifically set aside for "Group Hunt" night(s)?

As in, 6 very tiny Sorcerer brothers who fireball things down in one cast? *laughs* Imagine that in PvP, that would be awesome!

The little guys could have their own legion.... Sorc du Soleil ! Actually I think the idea of dedicated group characters is a pretty good one. It might just make the game mechanics work a little more in favor of this group of veteran players. Some characters would evolve through the game at a pace that was in line with the nature of the individual players; their habits, intensity, available time, goals etc. And other characters would be designated for a rather laid back periodic recreational playing format. What the heck, I've got a slot left...I'm ready to make the little feller! LOL
