Nothing here in a while. Here's a memory:
Balor Vale
Twas a moonlit night in Balor Vale, the stars were full and bright,
The clouds, they hovered soft and pale… we set out in the night
Two score of us and several more converged on Aelid Faie
And set out for the Fomor Caves, Sadoma knew the way.
We blessed each other in the dark, and drew together close,
Then ran along the boundary mark, so none of us were lost
Soon we reached the Fomor home, and boldly entered in,
And vowed the fall of Krackenstein, was forthwith to begin.
We found him lurking deep within, asleeping in the dark,
And sleeping with him, many kin… we pledged to make our mark.
Well Maggie drew her arrow tight, and sent it through the air,
‘Leo drew his jerkin tight, and ruffled up his hair,
Tatton filled the air with song, summoned power from his flute,
And Cully didn’t tarry long, his sunder stick was bent on hurt.
Vonstadt bared her teeth a bit, and set her visage tight,
And suddenly all hell broke loose, Lord Kracken rose to fight.
He sprayed his lightning all around, and filled the caves with deadly light,
His kin, they woke and lumbered in… themselves an aweful sight.
Well all of us, we gave the best of what we had that day
We met ole Kracky face to face… but alas, he sent us on our way.
Yet fight we did until the end, until the grim release,
And met again within the grove, and gave ourselves to sad surcease,
I remember endless fighting there, with valor all around,
and friends and kin beyond repair, lying bare and beaten on the ground.
Magnoliah fighting to the last, and Suile was by her side,
Vonstadt’s blade still flashing, casting curses at the ebbing tide.
And Sadoma ever standing tall, defiant to the last,
Matching Kracky’s lighting spark for spark, as the battle raged so swiftly past.
I long for grander times again, when we shall hence return,
To teach Krackenstein the lessons, that (this night) he simply wouldn’t learn.
Yes, twas a moonlit night in Balor Vale, the stars were full and bright,
The clouds, they hovered soft and pale… when we set out in the night.
Two score of us and several more converged on Aelid Faie,
Set out for the Fomor Caves, and fought ‘til break of day.
Ah, we were beaten some it's true, but vanquished not one bit,
For he forged in us a stronger will, and here’s the truth of it:
Twas body, but not spirit flayed, and of a time we shall return,
Again to gather in the caves. And that day...we’ll all see Kracky burn.
