We'll need to pick a server before anyone tries to create/name/save a character on the 13th. I'll try to keep an eye on the site for the list but if anyone else spots the announcement first jump right in here with post so we can decide.

Couldn't resist and got on to create the three classes I want to play and look at the starting areas. Compared to what I saw on the streams last night, it wasn't crowded at all! The gnomes are adorable! So, is there a good place anyone can direct me to learn how to manipulate the UI, e.g. can you move the hotbars or are you stuck with them on the bottom? Also, as I'm planning on starting with the priest first, is there anyone else that will be starting in the dwarf/gnome area? Is it usual to just play to a certain level before you can join up, or can you travel at an early stage? Such a newbie I am! Ari

Well, it was a decade ago ... but I seem to remember Morr and I "running" or boating to other starter cities pretty low level for one reason or another. Or just for the adventure. However you also have to start earning a reputation in your race's natural home region if I remember right. I think it affects what you can do later.. or what mount you can buy.. if you failed to earn enough rep in your home location ?
I think in general the early questing is mostly solo-able but people group in order to complete a quest in super crowded starting zones where everyone is trying to get the same wolf or whatever.
I guess we do need as a group to figure out first what server/realm we'll start on - and character create on or after the 12th. And then in general, our plan to meet up since I imagine there will be lots of different races as first choice among our little group. Someone who's more strategic than me, like Kul or Morr should weigh in on that I think. Personally I'm still going back and forth in my head on what race my main will be. I'm not usually drawn to the dwarves and gnomes personally but I think I had one as a banking alt once !

It does appear that the early questing and such is very easy to do solo. I don't mind that at all, especially the reputation part, 'cause I love when that's in games!

I never used addons back in the day but lurking on a guild's chatter this morning and going to try Dominos for better control set up of action bars as my experiment.
In the game today to test loading and installing of it (the Friday stress test of Classic is staying open all weekend if you didn't know and want to test out your class or creation )

us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/how-are-people-getting-mount-right-at-40/287540This post has some helpful responses to the OP's question of how he'll ever earn 100 gold by 40. Several people said he'd earn a lot from 30 - 40 so not to panic yet. Anyway, some good discussions on the AH prices right now too. One small thing I forgot is that cooked meat vendors for more than raw, even without spices. I haven't bothered to cook anything yet as no time really but I've vendored so much meat. Celawen has pet now so probably won't vendor as much but a good idea if you're trying to count coppers
