Good deal, Arie! I've never been big on voice, but if anyone wants to set up a voice channel that's cool. Can't wait until tomorrow!
I'll post what my names and classes are after creating them tomorrow, will try to get some of the old names from Nimue.

I too am not big on voice, though it is very handy in non-rp pvp situations. I have recently played a couple of the survival games (Conan & ARK) on RP servers; one was text only & one was voice. I still prefer text/emote for roleplay. Arie |

I don't mind voice with people I know, but it gets old fast with random PUGs and such. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned!
I'd have to find my headset lol!

Well, well. I got the E-mail from Morreion. Greetings everyone. I hope that you are all doing well. I am thinking about joining you all in Phoenix Shard. Actually I am still playing DAoC on the Ywain Server. I enjoy it some, but it's no longer what it was. So much hacking, cross realm play, ganking, and childishness. I am up for giving this a go with you all. I am not sure about this weekend as I have some things scheduled, but we'll see how tomorrow goes for startup.
I've been retired for a couple of years now. So playing times should not be a problem for me. It's as it always was: I have varied interests overall and family always comes first. Other than that I'm very flexible time wise.
I'm thinking Blademaster or Champion so far, but I'm open to needs. Kalyce is retired, so I will not likely play another Bard.
I have mixed feelings about voice too (I am both old and old school I guess). It is not a necessity for me in any way. That said, I do have access to a 10 person Ventrilo Server, which I haven't used in some time. If push came to shove I could mess around with it and see if I can get it fired up again. I agree with Morreion, random PUGs and the variety of players they bring to the server can be quite a hassle.
At any rate, I'm wishing you all the best in this new year. I'll leave a message here when I get on the server and begin the journey.
P.S. - Is the guild to be called "Far Journeys"?

Great to hear from you, Echo! Hope you're enjoying retirement- I know I am Sorry to hear about original DAoC and the culture there...things change. It seems like it was a generation ago when we were all playing DAoC in its glory days. Not sure if there is to be a guild here, we will have to see. Will have to give it time to see if players here are interested. Keep an eye on this board. Would be good to see you again. I'm rolling up character(s) in Albion too, you can play all 3 Realms but you have to have 12 hours between playing in one Realm and switching to another- keep that in mind. Once again, great to hear from you! |
