I played this in the VERY early alpha stages and it was rough. It was a lot like the other survival games out there, which are much fun, but it was open pvp focused. Some large groups, totally destroying everything that everyone had built, rinse, repeat. Tester reactions were pretty harsh, so no wonder Amazon got out of that quickly. It'll be interesting to see how it's changed.

This is reminiscent of Asheron's Call, where sometimes finding people to help you loot your corpse and get equipment back was key. Has it's plusses and minuses, and it looks like they saw the light.

You have to pre-order to get in. I really wanted to take a look before I commit. Posters suggest pre-ordering since it won't be charged and testing it in July. If it doesn't suit you could cancel the order. I might do that. This article also summarizes the current mechanics and style. The game was re-worked in the last 6 months or so supposedly to eliminate the pvp abuse opportunities and add more pve content.

Cited the virus and staffing and remote work as issues. I thought this was one of those industries that already functioned well with remote workers ?!
