Seriously? That's just ridiculous. I can't believe someone thought this was a good idea. I can believe less that someone is actually publishing it. This is bad for the gaming community, which has enough heat on it already, and horrible for the human race. Thanks jerks.
Someone put in the comments what I was thinking.

Yep. There's nothing like a hobby being very suspect and the majority of people (and politicians) judging that hobby by the worst example possible, while 99% of the rest of the hobby is fine. This is true of other things in life when the majority of people just don't 'get' something. It's wise not to antagonize ignorance. The Video Game Morality Questions Raised By Mass Murder Simulator, 'Hatred' (Forbes)...Hatred has the right to exist, but it shouldn’t, and its gory debut and eventual release will only do nothing but give video games an unnecessary black eye.

I have difficulty explaining why I love hateful black metal/noise music/some horror movies like Alien, but this is unbearable.
I think it's because this _participation_ in the atrocity encourages a kind of feedback for the negativity. People who say "it's just a game" are full of shit- that's like saying watching TV is just staring at furniture. It's evocative and expressive.
So my problem with it is I'll bet anything that a poor slob playing this thing feels mainly guilty and ashamed and MORE lonely and self-loathing afterwards, which makes him more pissed off and want to play it more. Whereas most negative art isn't participatory- I partake and feel like my bad juju has been transferred to or communed with _someone else_ and thereby cleansed. Maybe a failure of gaming as a medium.

That's probably a lot of it- gaming is a participatory medium, not just something you look at.
