Hey guys,
In my somewhat unsatisfied search for a great online game to play I downloaded Starbound a few days ago (Being a mild fan of Minecraft, but not really Terraria, so I wasn't sure if I'd like it)
Is anyone playing this game here?
So far I'm getting hooked on it, it has all the crack-like qualities of Minecraft, so far a rich game history and lore (which is still somewhat a work-in-progress by the game developers) and what appears to be a pretty well populated RP community. Like the forums I've been reading here, they even run their own wiki, with a heck of a lot of characters : community.playstarboundrp.com
And it's a science-fiction themed game, I kind of find that refreshing somewhat being a long-time veteran of only RPing in high fantasy/middle age themed MMOs.
Wanted to get a feel for what others thought about it if anyone here has played it, or done any RP there.
Cheers

Hey Arlost! I had to admit I had to look up Starbound as it didn't ring a bell- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarboundStarbound is an indie game being produced by the UK-based independent game studio Chucklefish Ltd. Starbound takes place in a two-dimensional, procedurally generated universe which the player will explore in order to obtain new weapons, armor, and miscellaneous items.Procedural generation is a hot topic now, sounds interesting. store.steampowered.com/app/211820/It's on Steam, I'll have to take a look at it!

Hehe, I had just found out about it too. I applied for that one RP server and hoping to get some multiplayer in soon. There seems to be a bunch of RP servers popping up for this game though.
The races and backstories are really neat, which is why I'm thinking it's appealing to roleplayers. One I thought was interesting was the race of robots that all think they are stuck in a medieval fuedal system. Haha, I just thought that was neat. So some of the outfits you get for them look like knights and kings.
And the soundtrack is really good.

I haven't heard of it until now. It looks interesting. I will check it out and let you know if I end up playing it.
