Well, the game is funded. In three-ish years, we'll have DAoC2 (minus PvE... kinda). Yay!

I'm still staring at the warrior forever one, but my wallet just wont allow it. Ah well, I'm still in as a backer and will get some goodies. I hope to see some of you in beta!

This definitely looks like a game to try! Camelot Unchained makes 11 promises to consumers (Massively)The promises include being responsive to players, fighting gold sellers, having the team play the game regularly, eliminating the need for copy protection, protecting player privacy, rewarding players for finding bugs, and never lying to consumers. Most interestingly, Jacobs vows that if Camelot Unchained is ever shut down, then the studio will release the compiled server code to the gamers.Building the perfect fortress in Camelot Unchained [Updated] (Massively)How possible will it be for a small guild or even an individual to build cells? Is there a limited number within each "zone"? Must groups formally agree to attach their cells together, or can a loner unilaterally place his cell near someone else's land?
Individuals can build cells and then use them to build structures. You wouldn't need a guild to build cells or small structures. Groups will be able to cooperate both on structures and the sharing of their plots of land. We don't know the dimension of plots yet (of course), but the biggest will be large enough to allow more than a single player to build on one.More details revealed for Camelot Unchained's world-building systems (Massively)Blueprints, which can be traded, are a way to speed up the building process -- or rebuilding, if enemies have destroyed your structure in RvR. Players with the appropriate skills can create blueprints of an already finished structure or through the architect's interface as a plan for a future structure. Through RvR, players can claim buildings built by others, either by deconstructing the entire thing or just capturing it; those structures can then be repaired or rebuilt by the new owners.Camelot Unchained reveals building system demo (Massively)Today's update goes into detail on the game's building system, including a video demo with programmer Tim Mills showing a quick prototype of what you can expect in the game.Camelot Unchained explains stealth (Massively)The idea revolves around the concept of the Veil, which in simple terms is another dimension that exists alongside our own. Players can become VeilWalkers, moving in and out of the Veil and traversing over and through objects undetected by most players. But VeilWalking comes with consequences of its own in the form of VeilStalkers, players who cannot enter the Veil but can pull Walkers out of it by using skills and placing traps.Camelot Unchained unveils new video, Mark Jacobs visits Reddit for AMA (Massively)The video is a half-hour-long affair in which Jacobs provides fans (and prospective Kickstarter pledgers) with an in-depth look at the lore of Camelot Unchained and the myriad features that the game is bringing to the table.Massively exclusive: Jacobs on Camelot Unchained's Kickstarter home stretch (Massively)As anyone who has participated in or even seen our tech demos can attest, we've come a long way in only a month or so. We've had hundreds of players running around and fighting in a small area, plus particle effects, and have consistently run at more than 200 (well, not to be boastful but we peaked at over 1200) frames per second, all the while playing with other users around the world.Camelot Unchained meets Kickstarter goal (Massively)Woohoo! Camelot Unchained secures an additional $3 million in funding [Updated] (Massively)Last night, Camelot Unchained surpassed its $2 million Kickstarter goal, but if you've been following the Kickstarter for the last month, you know that reaching $2 million means a lot more than reaching $2 million. As originally promised when the Kickstarter launched, the game will now receive an additional $3 million in funding, $2 million of which comes from City State co-founder and MMO industry veteran Mark Jacobs. The remainder comes courtesy of unnamed investors.

Something you don't see much is the addition of CU stretch goals. Camelot Unchained Stretch GoalsThey reached the first two at least. Although, I find it weird a company would make a fantasy MMO and not include archer classes (not to mention they're always my favorite, and first, class).

yeah, archers/rangers are pretty much a standard class now- but I'm glad to see CU shaping up into an interesting effort!

Let's just hope, or at least I am, that they don't make archers useless for the first four years of the game (like they did in DAoC).

So in the latest update from Camelot Unchained, they revealed a new class to play: The Bean Sidhe (Banshee). I'll skip the back story and post about the abilities they're thinking of having for the class. I thought it was really cool.
