Well, I took the plunge. I was going to wait, but just couldn't. My first impressions are quite good. I like the graphics and movement much better than Guild Wars. The interface is reasonably familiar, and so far the various forms of engagement are, shall I say, refreshing.
I decided to reprise my original Guild Wars characters from what seems like long ago, the human brother and sister Paradis and Matreya Morningstar. They are Guardian and Ranger, respectively. So if you see either of those two roaming around give a shout (I'll do the same). I'm playing it slow and laid back, just getting a feel for the game. DH sounds like a fantastic guild; if they are still taking apps I might put one in.
Happy Gaming to all.

Okay, I bought the game today and hope to get started sometime tonight.
I definitely want to join the guild, so I'll go looking for the right server and who to contact in a minute. (Is there a guild invite message thread? Hmm, I ought to pay better attention.)
I'll post again with character info and name, though at first thought I'm going to roll up a human ranger named.. wait for it...
Kelryck!

I got logged into the game finally, and what a surprise to find there was already a Kelryck on the server.
So if you see a Kelryck in the game, it's not me. I was able to finally end up with something close - Kelrymm.
I had a lot of fun and made it to level 5 before I finally called it quits at 1:30 in the morning. Reminds me of my first days of DAoC. Woo hoo! ;D ;D ;D
(Modified: I actually got to level 7... guess I was too tired to remember what I was I was having so much fun!)

Ack! Names are unique game-wide, it may be possible for you to get a 1st name Kelryck and a last name of any kind if you want to try that out...glad you're having a good time, I too felt some of the good old DAoC days leaking through ;D

Yes, Kelryck, I had one name that was rejected, but when I added a surname it went through just fine.
This experience most definitely reminds me of my first days of DAoC; and while it is reminsicent of Guild Wars I, there are distinct differences (which are for the better IMO). Seems like a nicely evolved product so far.
Having a blast ... most fun I've had in a while gaming.

Am I right in thinking you get to WvWvW via the Asura gates? I'd like to queue in and get a taste.
