I'll sticky this thread for helpful advice in playing GW2. Here's a couple of great articles to start us off: Neato's Tips & Tricks (GW2Guru)"I wish there was some kind of crafting material storage..." There is, actually. And not only that, but you can right click on crafting materials to add them to your collection and they'll be transported to your bank instantly.Guild Wars 2 Tips & Tricks for new players (Dulfy's Healing Corner)7. Auto-loot
Auto-loot is another option you can turn in in the options window. Auto loot is a bit misleading as it doesn’t actually loot items automatically for you. You still need to go near a sparkling corpse and press F to loot the corpse. With auto-loot turned on, you won’t get a pop up box or anything, items just go into your inventory. You will still be able to see the items you loot via the sliding thingie at the bottom right of your UI.

Eight New Player Tips (GW2 Hub)1. [Ctrl] shows enemy nameplates and gathering nodes, [Alt] shows friendly NPC nameplates
This key mapping carries over from GW1, and will be pretty familiar to anyone who plays that game. For anyone new to Tyria with GW2, however, you’ll want to get into the habit of holding down the left Ctrl or Alt keys while out exploring.
Holding down Ctrl will display the nameplates of any nearby enemies, and can also help you locate gathering nodes that may be less obvious at first glance. Making gathering nodes easier to spot is an obvious benefit, but holding down [Ctrl] can also make spotting aggressive creatures underwater much, much easier.

Flameseeker Chronicles: Tips for your first outing in Guild Wars 2 (Massively)Home servers are important
You're probably used to server selection being a fairly permanent choice when it comes to rolling up new characters. However, you might not be used to the notion of all your characters being bound to the same home world. In Guild Wars 2, once you've picked a server to roll on, you can't just hop over to a different one to roll a new character. Instead, you'll have to use a home world transfer -- if you're reading this right around launch time, those transfers are free. Later, they'll come with a fee, but you'll be able to play as a guest on any serve you've got friends on.Five Offbeat Destinations in Tyria (GW2Hub)While most Guild Wars 2 players are used to fighting monsters or seeing fantastic sights, there are times that a player comes across something offbeat during their travel that makes them take notice. Whether it just makes the player smile or fight for his life, there are places and events in Tyria that stray from the norm and make a lasting impression. GuildWars2Hub.com examines five such offbeat destinations found in Tyria.

Five Tips for Quick and Efficient Leveling in GW2 (GW2Hub)#2 – Exploration is good.
This is so very important to leveling quickly. Exploration is critical to gaining experience. You’ve heard it a billion times by now that you need to explore everything in GW2. Well, there is a reason it’s repeated so much. You gain so much from wandering around level appropriate zones that it’s definitely worth your while. You can work on gaining your daily achievements, get XP from unlocking waypoints, vistas, and skill challenges. You also can gain more XP by killing enemies off the beaten trail and complete renown hearts and nearby events.

Things I wish I knew when I started playing (GW2 Forums)Trading Post takes an additional 10% when item sells. It hasn’t been up for too long so it hasn’t affected me too much. But this is something I don’t think a lot of people know considering the amount of people that sell for 1 copper more than the merchant sell price.[url=https://forum- en.guildwars2.com/forum/game/players/Guild-Wars-2-Tips]Guild Wars 2 Tips (GW2 Forums)[/url] To split items, hold alt then drag it to an open slot

Supply versus Demand
With the Trading Post shared across all servers, Supply versus Demand is frantic. There are potentially millions of players listing items and buying them constantly. You only have to search for a single item and press the refresh button to see the frenzy of activity. This makes buy-out tactics (to then list at a higher price) almost impossible at this stage as the market moves far too quickly for you to ever control it. As a result, it’s much more profitable to do the supplying through resource gathering rather than buying bulks to then sell on.
