So where is everyone planning on playing once the game is released? I am wanting to play with some people from Gaiscíoch, and they're playing on Sanctum of Rall, so that's where I'm going to be. I'm trying to get Roisin Dubh to follow suit as well.
Apparently it costs to switch servers after you roll on one (you can't have multiple characters on multiple servers). So it's best to get on the same server in the beginning.

This is a good question, Rego! A few of us here are looking at different options including possible RP guilds to join, so we will be figuring this out as we get closer to release. Stay tuned as we figure out what we're doing! ;D
One nice thing about GW2 is that we don't have to worry about which faction to play- WvWvW is server against server PvP action, which is neat.

It's cool that you can visit other servers to PvE- of course, PvP means you fight the people you visit!

I can't say my experience with them in Rift was that great but looking back I think what I expected wasn't in line with what the guild was. However I didn't actually get to know anyone in the guild, it was mostly a free-for-all of strangers.
So who do you want to play with from Gaiscíoch?

Mainly Foghladha. I used to game with him back in DAoC, and his guild and mine (Roisin Dubh) did a lot together. We also did a lot together in Warhammer. There's a few other members of the guild that I used to game with through my course of MMOs that it would be nice to reunite with. The guild is far bigger now than it was back then. It's a few thousand members now, whereas back in the days of DAoC, I think RD had more members then they did (we had about 150/200 at our peak I think).

Yeah, my reaction was the same as Oat, it didn't work out, I had other expectations. I remember Fog from the good old days, those were some great times! edited for brevity!  |

Well, you can join multiple guilds at the same time. You're not limited to the one.

That's true! We're leaning towards Tarnished Coast right now, the unofficial RP server. Nothing's final yet, but we're still looking at a couple of guilds. If we end up on a different server, I'll be visiting RD- I wonder if guests from another server can join a guild?...
