The Temple of Darnassus on the island of the night-elves was one of my favorite screenshot places. I have to give WoW credit, it did some things well, and one of those things was artistic themes for different places and zones. On Christmas Eve of 2004- a month after the game's release- an image I took there was selected as the screenshot of the day on the WoW Vault website.
